Saturday

I wake up before my alarm goes off and jump out of bed to hit the shower. I get out to hear my alarm going off and see Mom trying to figure out how to shut it off. We eat breakfast as a family, me, Mom and Dad all having eggs, toast, burnt bacon and grits. I can hardly eat, but I stuff it down ‘cause I will need the energy. I get to the meet fifteen minutes early and I’m done stretching by the time my competition arrives. I dominate the meet only having two points scored against me all day. Dad cheers as if he just won the lottery. Mom claps even though she’s not really sure what’s going on. At night it’s party time. Stacey’s there. I don’t drink too much ‘cause I have to go to church and a weightlifting session in the morning. I listen to Stacey blabber for awhile before I ask her to go upstairs to Culver’s bedroom where I totally get to second base.
